Seraphim is the new home for all of our creative projects–music, art, photography, publications, productions, etc. We decided it would be wisest for us to house everything we do inside and outside of 1476 under one imprint and carve out our own little place in the art universe.
We hold a certain standard for our releases that other labels have not lived up to. Thus, we ended up self-releasing our first album. We’d like to expand on what we did with A Wolf’s Age and make all subsequent releases even nicer. We would like to release albums that come with art/publications (for example separate pamphlets for the lyrics accompanied by artwork), special vinyl, books, art prints, etc. Even if we license an album to another label, there will always be an initial limited edition version released by us and will be available directly from us. By doing this, we hope to create a more intimate relationship with you. We want feedback on things you’d like to see from us (and from the music/art community in general) and we’d like to find ways to make those things happen.
We will be releasing music outside of 1476 here as well–side projects, solo projects, experimental projects–to cater to our interest in more off beat concepts/sounds. We hope to generate enough money in the next year or two to be able to fund releases by other artists as well.
Seraphim will be a place where everyone outside the mainstream will be welcome. We are shapeshifters and genre-benders and have no interest in what business people think we should do to fatten their wallets. At Seraphim, art can run free.
